So, is anyone sitting on a phylogenetic definition of Fungi? The closest I've found online is Toby White's suggestion of toadstools > toads.

Ha, pretty funny.

Seriously, though, seems like a good candidate for a branch-modified node-based definition, say along the lines of, "The final common ancestor of all extant members of Clade(Agaricus campestris <-- Homo sapiens), plus all descendants thereof," or something to that effect. But I'm not sure what, if anything, has been published.

Or is Eumycota a better name for this clade?
